Another assignment

This is another assignment for the class I’m taking at ICP about gesture, metaphor, location and concept in portraiture, this one is metaphor…this image is part of a sequence based on using plants/nature to explore different sides of being a teen. Or a person.

I found out that while I do use metaphor a lot in work I do, I am not comfortable trying to reverse engineer a metaphor into an image or set of images…it feel strange. Normally I start by shooting and see what develops, and from there move forward in images and ideas, so while this felt a bit awkward, and forced, it was a great learning experience. I think a lot, and I see a lot, and finding new ways to combine these is interesting.
