Summer is almost here, and school is almost out. Last year I wanted to spend the summer with my kid, doing summer things, but I had to work extra long hours. Time moves so fast - I remember hearing that when he was small and wanting to roll my eyes, because time passes so slowly when they're small, right up until it doesn't. This summer will be busy, and busier than I know, and still I'm thrilled to get to spend time with my kid. He's full of fun and surprises. Like he's good at basketball! More important, he likes basketball. He also likes soccer, and ball stuff in general, as the picture above reflects. I'm sure there were other balls just out of frame too. I never thought I'd be the kind of person who carries 5+ balls of different types in the car, and I'm glad to be that person.
Our kids are growing up! They're changing fast. I miss my three year olds voice, because he's eleven now. I miss those baby hands, and small unstinky feet. I love this eleven year old though, every age is the best age.
These days are the best days, the only days we have, and I'm grateful to spend them with the people I love.
