Summer is here again!
Summer is back, for a while, and I am thrilled. Sure, my house is a bit of a mess, my garden is weedy, and I seem to be getting nothing important done, but at least I enjoy the sun and the trees and the flowers.
I’m taking more classes… with Kristine Nyborg about going through all the photos and seeing what can be found and put together in a new way, and another with Martine Fougeron about long term personal projects, and what to do with them - so far it’s a really interesting class, and the work the other students are doing is great - I look forward to seeing what they come up with. All of the classes I’ve taken at ICP have been wonderful, so I’m glad to be in another one. I have one more class I want to take for sure, and hopefully they’ll offer it again before they move to in-person only…if they do. It’s great to have the option to take classes from great schools online, and study with people from around the world.
Because these classes are about looking back at old work, or examining current work, I don’t expect to be posting a lot of new work anywhere, but I am trying to do better at sometimes posting something somewhere…
And! I’m having a show in August, at Snapdragon/Hastings-Cone Gallery. I had planned to have a show last August, of the Cartomancy series, which of course didn’t happen due to Covid-19. I’m not showing that work this year as I haven’t worked very much on it - it seemed like too much of a fun and happy and strange project to put time into during lockdown, so I moved on at least temporarily to a very gloomy project about my childhood. But I will post about that another day!
